School eye screening project for school children conducted by Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama under its eye care project. We have printed and distributed more than 5000 eye testing charts for eye testing by teachers in their class rooms and send the children who cannot read the lines in the chart for our screening camps at cluster level camps. Ofcouse our project is a total failure for want of interest among teachers community. We have apponted voluntary workers who will screen the children at different schools and organise screening camps. This method is a great success. By and large the teaching community is reluctent to take responcibility for the welfare of the child

This child has some problems in learning. He is a slow learner and has not picked up lessons of 1st standard where as he is in 6th standard. An educationist and a psycologist is assessing the child to understand the problems and to suggest remedial measures to infuse selfconfidance and create an aptitude towards studies. There are at present 10 children undergoing training in our slow learners project at KRS govt. upper primary school near Mysore.

These five girls of 10th standard of Bhagini seva samaja girls high school are not good at their studies. They have faired poorly in class examinations and tests and are likely to fail in the SSLC examination in March. We have taken it as a chalenge and have entrusted these children for special attention by the Head mistress & class teacher. There is a incentive for the teacher also. For every shudent who passes the examination the teacher will get Rs. 2,000 as an incentive. We will have to waite and see the result.
