Inauguration of Belagola center of Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama, Bangalore. A small tiled roofed house has been rented at Belagola on Mysore KRS road for storing old clothing & other materials before distribution to the beneficiaries  It also houses Tailoring section & computer training center. We have plans to start a small library for the benefit of children.

        Venugopalaswamy temple at Surapura is an ancient temple maintained well. It is on the top of a hillock in the middle of the town. Sri Vivekanada Sevashrama volunteers visited this temple during the mega free IOL eye camp conducted on 20th July 2012. It was at walkable distance from the hospital Quarters where we stayed. Surapura is like a hill station with beautiful surroundings.

This is the primary Health Centre managed by Karuna Trust at Beggars colony, Bangalore. Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama conducts Free IOL Cataract Surgery for the inmates. We have conducted more than 300 free sirgeries. Recently we conducted surgery camp at Vasantaputa as part of inaguration of surgery work at our Branch. 16 inmates were operated on 4th Dec. 2011.

Surgery for the poor patients of Beggars Colony, Bangalore

          Screening for cataract surgery is done at Nirashritara Parihara Kendra. 17 cataract patients were selected for surgery. Surgery conducted on 21st April 2012. only 14 patients turned up for surgery. The other three refused to come. We will convince them when we go again very soon.  We have picked up only male patients and we will screen female patients shortly. Sevashrama conducts cataract surgery for the poorest of the poor regularly We have conducted around 400 free IOL cataract surgeries till now. It is a regular feature of our cataract surgery work.
