Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama conducted 228 free IOL surgeries at its mega eye camp conducted on 15th Dec. 12. Till date Sevashrama has conducted 25,916 Free IOL cataract surgeries at various camps in Karnataka.

Pencils were distributed at the Tattasandra Eye Screening camp to coinside with Hanumad jayanti at Tattasandra Prasanna Anjeneya Swami temple on 25th December 2012. Tattasandra is in Kunigal taluk of Tumkur District, just beyond Magadi.

        Nirashritara Parihara Kendra in bangalore houses beggers picked up from the streets of Bangalore is situated in Magadi Road Just by the side of outer ring road & magadi Road Junction. Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama conducts regular cataract surgery camps for the old inmates. we have conducted about 400 surgeries till now. We conduct camps for 20 patients every Quarter. We insert Calaculated IOL for the patients to avoid additional spectacles. Here some pnotos of camp conducted on 28-12-12. Karuna trust manages the PHC with in the premises and they take care of the patients after surgery. 

        SLOW LEARNERS PROJECT Pictures taken on the occasion of the visit of volunteers of Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama on 21st Dec. 2012. This is a special school for the children who have learnt nothing from Ist standard to 7th standard. They are going to high school in the next academic year. We are teaching them Kannada alphabets and reading simple sentences. We have taken ten children in each school. We have  two schools for the present and would like to add 8 more school to make a total of 10 schools and hundred children. We request for funds for this unique project. The cost per class is Rs. six thousand per month and the total for ten clases is Rs. sixty thousand.

                      Cataract surgery projet HAL. Hindustan Aerinotics Ltd has sanctioned grant under CSR for conducting 500 FREE IOL cataract surgeries for the poor. Under this project Sevashrama conducted the first camp at Alkapura, near Gowribidanuru in Chikkaballapur district. A very small camp of hardy 29 surgeries. Representatives from HAL visited the camp & expressed their happiness at the procedures followed at the camp. Some of the pictures taken on that occation on 30 Nov 2012

Total of 228 IOL free Cataract surgeries were conducted for the poor villagers of Silvara & kavital and surrounding areas, Perhaps we could have conducted 100 more surgeries with in the time available. Good lot of people who turned up for Out Patient did not opt for surgery and returned back. Some had to be sent back for high BP and sugar levels.

This under pass is on Mysore Nanjanagudu Nathinal highway near Kadagolla. We conducted a school screening camp at Kadagola high school. Kadagola was famous for hasi kadale & chape. Now it has lost its name & fame for these products. It has become a wayside village like any other village. TVS Scooter factory is nearby.
