5000 th Cataract patient

Shivappa is the 5000th free patient. Today, 3rd November 2011 we have conducted nearly 22,000 free IOL Cataract surgeries. These days we are conducting 3500 surgeries per annum. Patients are poor and they await free IOL surgery camps. We calculate the power of the IOL by using Keretometer & A- Scan and use the exact power computed, we do not use one power for everybody as is being done at other IOL camps. Quality of our work is good and is compareble to any good eye hospital anywhere.

This is the primary Health Centre managed by Karuna Trust at Beggars colony, Bangalore. Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama conducts Free IOL Cataract Surgery for the inmates. We have conducted more than 300 free sirgeries. Recently we conducted surgery camp at Vasantaputa as part of inaguration of surgery work at our Branch. 16 inmates were operated on 4th Dec. 2011.

Temple of Venugopalaswamy at Surapura, yadgir Dist.

        Venugopalaswamy temple at Surapura is an ancient temple maintained well. It is on the top of a hillock in the middle of the town. Sri Vivekanada Sevashrama volunteers visited this temple during the mega free IOL eye camp conducted on 20th July 2012. It was at walkable distance from the hospital Quarters where we stayed. Surapura is like a hill station with beautiful surroundings.
