PRAYER TO RAIN GOD

Rain is the subject of discussion these days. Many parts of the country are facing severe drought conditions. One may play violin standing in the dried out bed of a water tank as Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan did some years ago, or perform havans and homas, but rain God has not  been kind when the greedy  humans cut trees and decimate forests As a punishment Bangalore has been experiencing one of the hottest summers ever seen
Unaware to city dwellers villagers have their own way to appease the God. A procession is taken out with some one carrying neem leaves on his head with an image of Basava or bull. water is poured over as an appeasement for Shiva.
