Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama eye hospital is a charity hospital conducting free cataract surgery camps, conducted 32000 cataract surgeries. Previous year conducted 2800 free surgeries. Estimated cost is INR 1500/ we need funds for cataract surgery project. Conducting mega camps in Hydarabad Karnataka in Koppal, Raichur, Yadgir & Ballari districts. Around 300 surgeries are conducted in each camp. want to concentrate on Yadgir district, conduct 1000 surgeries.Need funding for eye care project.

Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama is a registered charitable trust with 80 G
income tax exemption. We havepermission to collect foreign donations under
FERA. Our achievements till date :
have completed an aggregate of 43,035
free IOL cataract surgeries since its inception. During the past year 2016-17,
4572 free IOL cataract surgeries were done. We intend to conduct 5000 surgeries during 2017-18

Our activities at
1. Sight to the Sightless project– Our focus area for conducting
mega free IOL Cataract surgery eye camps for the deserving poor isHyderabad Karnataka, India. Each surgery costing INR 2000, we seek
sponsors/donors for the project. We are on AMMODO a Swiss donor platform for receiving donations surely not adequate
care for childrenincluding
surgery when required - At present,Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar districts of Karnataka, India are areas
where school children vision testing conducted. Spectacles are given free for
children needing glasses. Pediatric surgery costs INR 10000 per surgery and
each spectacles costs INR 300. We seek donors for these projects
3. Slow learners’ project- Helping students slow in
learning in four government primary schools in Madya district of Karnataka,
India. Intend to increase it to ten schools when funds are available. Rs. 1,00,000 per annum per school is the
expenditure on this scheme.
4. Livelihood project -We conduct tailoring and computer classes.
5. Supporting Special children schools- We support two schools for
mentally and physically challenged children near Mysuru
6. Supporting old age homesaround Mysuru
7. Collection and distribution of materialslike Sewing machines, Computers, old clothes, vessels and distribute
among the needy in rural areas.

Venugopalaswamy temple at Surapura is an ancient temple maintained well. It is on the top of a hillock in the middle of the town. Sri Vivekanada Sevashrama volunteers visited this temple during the mega free IOL eye camp conducted on 20th July 2012. It was at walkable distance from the hospital Quarters where we stayed. Surapura is like a hill station with beautiful surroundings.
This is the primary Health Centre managed by Karuna Trust at Beggars colony, Bangalore. Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama conducts Free IOL Cataract Surgery for the inmates. We have conducted more than 300 free sirgeries. Recently we conducted surgery camp at Vasantaputa as part of inaguration of surgery work at our Branch. 16 inmates were operated on 4th Dec. 2011.
